Antigua / Jabberwock Beach

E-SE

On Antigua's breezy northeast corner, Jabberwock is the island's go-to kite beach, an easygoing, sociable spot facing straight into the Caribbean trades. It runs on the warm easterly trades through the E, ESE and SE band, which blow side-on to onshore from roughly December into August and stay most consistent and least gusty from May through July, with average winds in the 12 to 20 knot range. The water is a mix of bump-and-jump chop with flatter patches tucked behind the reef, giving riders options for either jumping or smoother cruising. One of the longest beaches on the island, it offers abundant sand to rig, launch and land in comfort. Crowds are generally light, often just a handful of kites out, though the resident school and seasonal visitors add bodies. Watch for the reef rocks and swimmers; it suits intermediates and advanced riders, with side-on wind a reassuring safety net.
