Set on Boa Vista's long Chaves beach near Rabil, the Iberostar spot offers classic Cape Verde kiting, an endless arc of white sand and warm Atlantic water that combines a sheltered, flatter zone with open-ocean waves further out. It runs on the NE trade wind, which accelerates over the island to deliver a side- to cross-off breeze that is dialled in from November to April, often gusty but reliably strong at 15-30 knots, with the biggest wind and best waves between December and February. The water is wave-prone on the open coast, while the area between the beach and the small offshore island stays calmer and friendlier for freeride and learning. The sandy beach gives plenty of launch and landing room, with sessions often starting on the beach before heading out front. Crowds are modest and riders often spread out to wind-appropriate spots along the coast. Suits all levels, though the gusty offshore-leaning wind and waves reward solid intermediate skills.
