Bozo Beach (Cabarete Bay)

Bozo Beach sits just downwind of Cabarete's famous Kite Beach and is prized for having loads of space with fewer crowds than its neighbour. It works on the dependable Caribbean trades from NE, ENE and E, which typically build through late morning, peak with afternoon thermals, and blow most reliably from roughly June to September and again January to March. The water is choppy and often a touch gusty, with a reef breaking well offshore, so this is wave-and-bump terrain rather than a flat lagoon. The sandy beach offers a generous launch and setup area, though the shore break can be punchy, especially in the bigger winter swell. A few schools operate along the bay but it stays less congested than Kite Beach. The nasty shore break and reaching the open water suit intermediates and up; beginners should treat the launch with respect, and watch for swimmers near shore.

Cabarete Kitebeach

Kite Beach at Cabarete is the Caribbean's classic kitesurf hub, a lively wave-and-bump playground famous for warm water and trade winds that blow well over 200 days a year. The wind is the side-onshore easterly trade, building reliably through the afternoon; the windiest, least crowded stretch runs roughly June to September, while December to February is steadier but busier with tourists. It is wave-prone water rather than flat, good for everyone but with a beginner zone near the point where schools send students. The sandy launch is fairly compact, so with four-plus schools and many private riders sharing it, busy afternoons make launching and landing tight, especially in summer when erosion shrinks the beach. Mind the shallow reef with urchins and fire coral. Suits all levels with care.
