Mändjala is one of Saaremaa's best-loved surf beaches, about 12 km from Kuressaare along the Sõrve road, with a long arc of dune-backed sand and a resident, IKO-affiliated surf club. The water is shallow and largely flat with only small waves, which together with the welcoming launch makes it a strong progression and learning spot for all levels. Wind works across a broad band from NE through E and S round to W, with side-shore ENE or WSW ideal and offshore NNW the direction to avoid. The medium-sized sandy beach gives reasonable room to set up and launch, though it fills with holidaymakers in the June-to-August peak, so the busiest times are warm summer afternoons. Watch for fishing nets set in the water near the shore. Best ridden from May through October, when Saaremaa's sunny, reliable summer winds are at their best.

Nasva, on the south coast of Saaremaa near Kuressaare, is the home of one of Estonia's longest-running surf communities and a friendly hub where club riders and visitors share the water. It is a versatile freeride spot that rewards riders willing to follow the wind around the island, where you can usually find a working beach within a short drive. The spot fires across a broad arc from the north round through the east to the southwest, with the cleanest side-shore conditions on a N or S airflow; steer clear of offshore westerlies. The water here runs choppy rather than flat, suiting freeride cruising and building skills more than glassy freestyle. There is open sandy shoreline to lay out kites and launch, with the local club scene meaning help is rarely far away. It is a solid choice for intermediates, with autumn storms bringing the strongest, most reliable wind of the year.

Sõrve säär sits at the long, tapering southern tip of Saaremaa, a versatile spot prized for being the island's most reliable wind catcher when everywhere else is flat. The narrow peninsula offers two faces: a sheltered side that turns glassy and flat even in strong wind, and an exposed side that picks up genuine waves, so the listed water state leans wave-prone depending on which way you set up. It works across a broad arc from SE through NE (avoid the straight offshore E), with N or S delivering the best cross-shore riding. There is ample sandy and grassy room to rig near the lighthouse plus a large parking area, so launching is easy and uncrowded, with riders thin on the ground even in peak season. Note that the water deepens fast on the flat side, this is a nature reserve with bird-nesting closures in spring, and it suits independent intermediate-and-up riders. Summer through early autumn is the window.

North side
Panga pank is one of Saaremaa's most dramatic settings, where the highest coastal cliff in western Estonia drops more than twenty metres to the sea along the island's north shore. It is a niche, advanced-only spot that works in NW wind blowing onshore against that cliff wall, which means the airflow near the bank can be turbulent and lift-prone right where you launch. The season follows the windier autumn and spring fronts, with the occasional summer breeze. Launch space is the real catch: this is a clifftop coast, not a broad sandy beach, so room to set up and land safely is limited and the high bank looms directly behind you. Expect to be alone here, as almost no one kites this spot. The cliff and rocky shore are the dominant hazards, and the disturbed wind makes it unsuitable for anyone but very experienced riders who know the site.
