Tucked into a sheltered Tuscan bay below a medieval headland, Talamone is one of central Italy's most accessible all-rounders, drawing freeriders and progressing students who want consistent, manageable conditions. The reliable working wind here comes from the west, typically a moderate thermal sea breeze that fills in through the afternoon from roughly May to September, often four or five days a week in the warm months. Water state is mixed: flatter and shallow in the inner bay where most riders rig, with more chop and small waves toward the open outer coast. The sandy beach allows a straightforward launch, but the usable strip is fairly narrow and shrinks at higher water, so timing and spacing matter. It gets busy in peak summer with schools and holiday traffic sharing the sand. Watch the rocks near the headland and shoreline. Suitable for beginners through advanced when the breeze stays clean.
