Lignano Sabbiadoro sits on the northern Adriatic in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and offers an easygoing, all-round kite session backed by a long, wide stretch of golden sand. The water tends to break into small waves and chop along the open coast, though shallows reward a more relaxed riding style. Wind here works on NE and ENE bora, plus SE and SW breezes, with reliable winter bora running 12-40 knots in multi-day sets and lighter summer thermals around 10-14 knots; spring and autumn are the sweet spots. The expansive 8 km beach gives generous, obstacle-free room to rig and land, though in summer riders shift toward the wilder Isola delle Conchiglie since the swimming beaches fill up. Schools and rentals are well established, so expect company on the best days. Suitable for all levels.
