Zanzibar / Jambiani

Jambiani is a quiet fishing village a few kilometres south of Paje on Zanzibar's east coast, offering the same vast reef-protected lagoon with far fewer crowds. The huge sandy lagoon is flat at low tide and throws up small waves at the reef edge as the tide fills, so it is excellent for beginners and trick progression alike. Two trade seasons drive it: the stronger SE Kusi from May to October at 15-25 knots and the lighter NE Kaskazi from December to February, covering the broad NNE-through-SSE wind window. The wide beach has ample launch space, and because Jambiani draws fewer riders than Paje the lagoon stays uncrowded. Tides matter, as much of the lagoon dries at low water. Welcoming to all levels; booties help against reef and urchins.
