Datca
Datca sits on a long curving bay on Turkey's Aegean peninsula, a spacious freeride arena that suits cruising, downwinders and riders who like room to roam. The working wind is WNW to NW, a cross-offshore Meltemi that turns the bay into a wide playground; it builds through the day, often topping 20-25 knots by mid-afternoon and holding until sunset, with the peak season running June to September. Because the breeze is largely side-off it can feel gusty and demands attention to staying upwind. Water is mixed, flatter and more sheltered near the shore with chop further out across the open bay. The sandy beach gives a comfortable launch with space to set up. Crowds stay relaxed compared with Turkey's busiest hubs, with a modest local and school presence. The forgiving flatter inside makes it workable for beginners, while the cross-off angle and gusts favour intermediates and up.
