On the northeast tip of Venezuela's Paraguana peninsula, just south of Aruba, Adicora is a trade-wind paradise known for marathon downwinders and forgiving wave riding, drawing beginners through advanced kiters who come for the relentless wind. The water is mixed, with flatter side-onshore patches and mushy, shoulder-high rolling waves that stay soft and forgiving on an average day. The prevailing easterly trades blow side-onshore and remarkably steady, averaging around 25 knots from December to June and roughly 18 the rest of the year, with the strongest windy season from January to May where 30-knot days are possible. Launch is off a sandy beach with plenty of room to set up and land. It remains relatively low-key and uncrowded compared with major Caribbean destinations, with a handful of local schools. Hazards are limited to the swell and current near the wave zone; a great spot for learning and logging hours at all levels.
