Phan Thiet Jetties

NE-E

The Phan Thiet Jetties, about 15 km from the main Mui Ne beach, is a flat-water spot tucked between jetties at the river mouth, part of a bay with some of Asia's most consistent cross-onshore wind. The dry-season trades from the NE through SE blow strong and regular from November to March and into April, sometimes up to 40 knots, though the wind can be gusty where it comes over the land. The water between the jetties is very flat, good for freestyle and confidence-building, with chop and waves outside. There is sandy beach to launch from, but the river-mouth area has a fleet of fishing boats to navigate around. It is quieter than central Mui Ne. The gusty, powered-up wind suits intermediate and advanced riders best.
