Banc du Bûcheron is the tidal sandbank near Trousse-Chemise and the entrance to the Fier d’Ars. Local kite coaching uses it with NE wind at low tide; strong channels and the returning tide demand careful planning.

Le Martray is a shallow flat-to-choppy spot beside the island’s narrow isthmus, working with SW to W wind. The original rider source favours high tide because the water retreats a long way at low tide.
